Lightning & Thunder in Adelaide

Lightning & Thunder in Adelaide

Morning all, so was your world rocked by the storm last night in Adelaide. (2/10/23)

How did your servers handle the sudden power outages? Here at BTP we & our customers had no issues at all thanks to a handy little box called a UPS (uninterruptible power supply). The UPS sits between the electrical wall plug and the server and if you have a power outage, instead of the server getting damaged or worse, losing all of your data, a correctly managed UPS with a full battery charge will monitor this outage and start shutting down all the services on your server correctly then when completed it will run the final shutdown and put your server offline where it will be safe and sound from any other electrical spikes & outages. A UPS can cost a few hundred to a few thousand dollars depending on size & requirement, but a new server can cost thousands & thousands of dollars & data losses can be priceless!

Do you have a UPS and if you do, has it been checked & maintained regularly?

Here at BTP we can quote on a UPS to suit your requirements then supply & install.

After install we can even monitor your UPS day by day as part of our monitoring, we complete every weekday morning for our customers.
